>If it weren't so cold up there I would move on up!<

My recurring fantasy, Cathy. We (that is to say, southeren members of SpicePlace) each make a list. Long lists, cuz we only get to do this once.

Then we redezvous somewhere, and, as a group, drive up to that New York City, decend on Chelsea Market, and go crazy.

I've got dibbs on the fresh veal! :p

I have to say that we do have a very large selection of pasta - not just from various suppliers.

Don't even mention Buitoni or any of the other refrigerated pastas in the dairy section.

That is NOT fresh pasta - you want fresh pasta - you make it fresh. Get out the ingredients and start making it.

I don't believe in bottled sauces - unless I bottled it myself.

And don't even think of looking at any pasta dishes, etc. in the freezer section!

I didn't mean to imply I would actually eat Buitoni. Just that it's the closest thing to fresh in the stores. And, until the past couple of months, they didn't even have that.

KYH I'm game!!!!! Now that WOULD BE the trip! We would have to rent a U-haul :D I know I would need at least a grand to spend lol- one large (small refrigerator size) cooler filled with dry ice just for my loot!

Did you ever see the movie with Brandon Frasier called "Blast from the Past" he basically does that, rents a u-haul to stock up for his folks who've lived in a fall-out shelter for 30 yrs. It is a funny movie! Well we would do like that!

Another movie it reminds me of is a Lucille & Ricky Ricardo movie called "The Long Long Trailor" where she collects rocks from every stop on their travels and the trailor about collapes over the side of a cliff from the weight! You guys would have to watch out for me doing that as I am after all a rock-hound and love my rocks:D hey what's wrong with me picking up a few specimens along the way:D?

Oh it is fun to dream what a shopping trip it would be!!!!

Not a thing. And every highway cut reads like a geologic history of the world.
