You're welcome Max!

Cathy, I was in the Marines from Sept 1979 until April 1986.
I agree with your husband about missing everything and everyone.
I celebrate the MC Birthday every year by making sure I have a day off of work that day and just reminiscing.

Semper Fi!

When I left the Navy I swore I never wanted to see SOS ever again. Even chicken in white sauce was avoided for years. Now 40 years without it I miss it.

I must confess I was most intrigued when I read the idea about a Marine for breakfast! But then I read the recipe and was set straight, so to speak! (Oh c'mon! Humor is a good thing!)

SOS is and has always been one of my all-time FAV meals- breakfast, or ANY time! It was always popular in every kitchen I ever worked in whether it be a fancy country club brunch, a backwoods rustic Alaska lodge- a logging-camp, or the North Slope oil camps of Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay. I LOVE me some sausage gravy over biscuits! Yum!
