Thank you Mrean for the beautiful photos of one of my favorite dishes!!!:) I like the suggestions you make for using potatoes in the bottom of the pot. I am afraid my potatoes would be over cooked because it takes a long time to get the filling in the grape leaves done, but I would like to give it a try sometime! Do you pre-cook your rice? I use raw rice. I think I will place a layer of chicken, and then potatoes then the stuffed leaves on top to cook them. I never heard of putting in the tomatoes either I will bet that adds and additiional nice flavor!

I love stuffed cabbage. I have not had the grape leaves since I was a kid. Cathy, the use of yogurt is a nice twist.
Mream, I have never thought to use Mint with a dish like this but am very interested in trying a bit with tomatoes now to see if I like it.
Thanks for the wonderful recipes to you both.

Cathy, I make a Hungarian style stuffed cabbages and I layer cabbage rolls, then sliced potatoes, sour kraut, more cabbage rolls, sliced potatoes and kraut are the top layer. I make my sauce base again with V8 juice but spice it up a bit and add lots of Paprika. It is a Hungarian dish of course, lol. All the flavors work into the potatoes and makes the dish.

Wow that sounds good IC, I am a big fan of stuffed leaves of any variety. Tonight we had stuffed bell peppers again! There is a cabbage in my flower garden that is almost ready to harvest and I shall be stuffing away!:D I had one cabbage plant in my flower garden, as it was a gift to my 9 yr old from one of her teachers, I simply could not resist planting it, and believe it or not it made a beautiful addition to our flower bed as center plant!
