"Biddies" often refers to elderly ladies gossiping or something of that sort!
Same here, (those old Biddies)

I have to tell you my folks were from England. I am not sure what part but am working on that in my spare time. (Bradshaw) CF:)
I love Lyle's Golden Syrup, does this make me English. No, I just know whats good. CF:)

You can be as English as you want to be...or as "anything" as you may wish.
I absolutely adore Italian food - spaghetti, lasagne, cannoli, you name it, but only about 5% of me is Italian.....my stomach!! Perhaps that also contributes to your Englishness. JP is certainly correct about me - I'm not simply "English" but "British" as well - with my flapping Union Jack! Also Dutch, with a signet to show it. Anyone should take pride in who and what they are - and for you, CF, that includes a good, true heart! :)
