Although I'm allergic to strawberries- I'm a berry fiend when it comes to blackberries, blues, etc. And I love this recipe- gotta try it! My sister has wild mulberry bushes on her property- I wonder how they'd be in it?

When we were little, Cathy- we lived near a cemetery that had several mulberry trees. We ran around bare-footed all summer long and played in that graveyard a lot. By the end of the first month of summer vacation the bottoms of our feet were stained PURPLE from the berries! Long about August 1st Mom would announce that from here on out we needed to put on our shoes and stop going bare-footed, and each night as we soaked in the sudsy tub, Mom would scrub our feet like the dickens- chipping away at those tough stains bit by bit. She said she wasn't about to let her children go back to school w/ purple-stained feet!

Yes Kevin we were exactly like ya' all, we would eat them non-stop during the season. We only had 1 mulberry tree near our home, but it was huge and we would climb and pick and eat and eat mulberries until we couldn't see because it was getting dark out!:) Those were some fantastic summer memories for sure! Our poor Mom's dealing with not only stained "tootsies" but our clothes must have been ruined. You know I do not remember my mother ever complaining;) she was 1/4 angel that's for sure!

Another thing I recall doing as a kid that I'm sure produced some stained/ruined clothes. I used to sit in the middle of our black-top road and pop tar-bubbles w/ my fingers. YUCH! Was I a dim-wit, or what? HA!
