Howdy Pixie!

We're a fine bunch of folks- we always enjoy meeting new people and making new friends. We're glad you're here!

What a warm welcome. I've just browsed through the threads and they are all very interesting. Nice and clean layout as well. I think I'll be learning a lot from you guys.

I am not really fond of hot and spicy food but I do take on the challenge (sometimes). I grew up learning mostly the Spanish style of cooking. Our local dishes here are greatly influenced by the Spanish, Chinese, a little Italian, a little French, and some Malay. But progress did open up a lot more foreign restaurants and since we Filipinos love to eat, we have enjoyed a great variation. Although we wouldn't be aware if they were "authentic" or not, unless you travel abroad, it serves the purpose of introducing new dishes and unfamilair taste.

I have never been hesitant to try something new. I can tell you stories of ones I've eaten that most would consider "weird", fear factor food. But you'd never know what your missing until you try it. But there are some that I will never eat again, I swear.

I am really excited and look forward to making new friends.

Hi Pixie. My name is Janie. I live in Kentucky where most of the cooking is southern comfort food. I also like to make Italian with a little asian thrown in occasionally.
