Best Little Old Kitchen Tool Yet!

I KNOW WE TALK ABOUT ALL THE NIFTY KITCHEN TOOLS WE LIKE, PREFER AND OWN. BUT HAVE YOU EVER GIVEN MUCH THOUGHT TO THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOL OF ALL?

IT IS OUR VERY OWN HANDS!!!

I WAS PEELING SOME PEARS THIS MORNING (WELL A BUNCH OF PEARS) AND THINKING HOW TIRED MY HANDS WERE, THEN I REMEMBERED A CERTIAN RECIPE THAT I PREPARED THIS WEEK THAT I FOUND IN MY COOKBOOK "SPAIN AND THE WORLD TABLE". IT WAS A POTATO DISH AND CALLED FOR RIPPING YOUR POTATOES RATHER THAN CUTTING THEM INTO CHUNKS WITH A KNIFE. WHAT YOU DO IS PEEL THE POTATOES AND THEN START A LITTLE SLIT WITH A KNIF AND ACTUALLY RIP THR POTATO INTO PIECES (THEY CLAIM IT RELEASES MORE STARCH THIS WAY) I BELIEVE IT MAKES FOR THE ROUGHER EDGES TO HOLD THE SPICES, SAUCE OR WHATEVER YOU SEASON THE POTATOES WITH.

WELL ANYWAY THEN I BEGAN TO THINK HOW VERY VALUEABLE A TOOL WE POSESS AND SELDOM APPRECIATE FULLY! IF WE COULD ONLY HAVE OUR HANDS AND NOTHING ELSE I BET WE WOULD BE TOTALLY SURPRISED AT WHAT WE COULD ACCOMPLISH.

P.S. And last night I burnt mine pulling some herbs out of the cavity of a chicken I had roasted in my tagine and it hurt all night, and is much better today. Poor old hand:(
