Sweet potatoe fries? Really?? I've never heard of these. Are they just french fries made out of sweet potatoes???

LOL @ Bensmom not being able to pass the freezer without ice cream. Isn't that aweful!! I do the same with those little ben & jerry's containers. They're ALMOST too rich to eat a bowl full... but I can spoon it all day. And you can tell because there'll be no dishes in the sink, except 20 spoons. LOL Hubby will say "Hey sweety?? You got icecream in there?" LOL

Yep, sweet potato fries are just that: french fries made from sweet potatoes. SOOO GOOD!! We slice them up ourselves, like steak fries, and oven bake them. Incredibly good.

The sweet potato fries -- do you put any sort of seasoning on them while they bake? I love ketchup with normal fries. Do you dip the sweet tator fries in anything before eating them? Like maybe melted butter?

Do they come out crunchy at all? Personally, I hate baked fries because they always turn out so soft and mooshy. I like deep fried for that nice crunch.

All you do is toss them in a bowl with a little olive oil and salt, then pop 'em in the oven. They are yummy as-is, but a little ketchup never hurts. they'll come out crunchy if you slice them thinner...more like matchsticks than steak fries, IYKWIM.

Actually, I recently tried some ready-to-cook sweet potato fries that I found in the produce section (near the bagged salads), and they were sliced very thin, and my husband complained that they cooked up TOO crunchy.

I know, deep-fried is delicious, but oven-baked is sooo much healthier.

I wonder if putting olive oil on normal fries and then baking them would make them more crunchy. Do you think you'd have to let them thaw first? I'm talking about frozen, bagged fries. I may have to try that.

I'll definitely keep a look out for the bagged sweet potato fries as you mentioned.

I can't imagine putting ketchup on a sweet potato. Do they taste the same as when you do baked sweet potatoes? Seems like it would be a very odd taste to put the 2 together.
