I have several nice quality but high-maintenance tablecloths for my formal dining room. However, with toddlers in the house, I can think of better ways to spend my time than ironing the tablecloths (simple, but easily wrinkly, apparently). I'm also located a good distance from anyplace I can go on a tablecloth-centric shopping visit, so I would appreciate any tips y'all might have on easy-care but good quality tablecloths. I'm tired of ironing! (and if i accidentally buy one more dry-clean only tablecloth, I'll probably throw a toddler tantrum myself)

TIA

Naw - you don't want to have a tantrum over a tablecoth!!!

It's tough keeping those nice tablecloths looking good - they are high maintenance. I know!!!

My one friend bought a clear shower curtain liner and cut it with pinking shears, scalloping the edges and she places that over the top of her expensive tablecloth! Now she doesn't worry about spills, kids or her sloppy hubbie!!!

I have kids and I put on a new tablecloth everyday after they eat. I dont buy expensive ones because of that. Mine come from the Potter Barn, JcPenny, Wal-Mart and Kmart. I dont like the plastic ones, so I am constantly washing them. I have learned not to put them in the dryer because they do shrink. I hang them outside of inside over my shower rod and then iron them.

Thanks, y'all! I can't believe I never thought of NOT putting them in the dryer.
