I have a recipe that calls for sherry, and I don't have any. I don't have red wine vinegar either. Any other substitutions you can think of??

It's generally fine to substitute dry white wine for sherry. I don't love the taste as much but it will do in a pinch.

Or even broth, depending on the recipe.

It depends on the recipe to an extent - what are you making?
