Does anyone here know anything about what someone with an over or under-active thyroid can/should eat?

A friend of mine has some condition where his thyroid levels are all over the place. One his symptoms is pretty bad indigestion.

Any dietary suggestions?

KSink, I don't have anything to offer as I am not "in the know", but I'll be curious to see what others may have to share... smiles- kevin

there is a lot of information out there if you do a search, but first one needs to know if it is over or under active??

Most thyroid problems need to be control by meds.

I don't think there is a specific diet for anyone with underactive thyroid.

There are certain herbal medicines that should be checked by a pharmasist before taking such as Kelp, or any seaweed preparations, anything with a high concentration of iodiene.

It is easily medically treated, usually one tiny tablet a day, the awkward thing is finding the correct dose. This may take several months to regulate but she/he should be fine without any adverse reactions.

Wishing her/him well.
