My 5th grader is going to be graduating into middle school in June. We are having a party for her but haven't gotten any idea what to serve. I plan on serving your basic chips and dips. Not sure what else though.
Most kids that age enjoy the hotdog/hamburger or pizza (with or without wings) routine. Totino's pizza rolls can be made in the microwave if you want.
Cupcakes make an easy dessert - and if it's too hot to bake - there is always BJ's, Sam's Club, etc. for those large packs. Even Wal-Mart has cupcakes and mini cupcakes.
The good thing is - they arent too fussy at that age and they appreciate everything.
And maybe some sliced watermelon, kool-aid or fruit punch.

I agree with Mama - kids are easy to please, so don't spend countless hours planning an elaborate menu. They'll be just as happy with hamburgers/hotdogs, some chips, cookies/brownies, and maybe some veggies (just in case you have kids or parents that don't like sweets). Mix up some lemonade or kool-aid and call it a day.

Thanks for the ideas. We were thinking about just have finger foods. So the pizza rolls are a good idea. My daughter wants to have fruit, crackers and cheese, chips and dip and a cake. I guess that will be good enough. For drinks I just purchased a large container of lemonade and fruit punch. Might spike the fruit punch with some 7-up or something...LOL
well since you are "spiking" - don't forget to float fruit or freeze pieces of fruit in ice cubes or add a maraschino cherry to the glass! makes it look extra special! and don't use water to make your ice cubes - make your cubes out of the lemonade and fruit punch - it doesn't dilute the flavor!!
