Halloween Ideas

This year I'll be taking my son up to see his daddy at work on Halloween. When I went last year I took a big bowl of sandwich cookies that I'd dipped in chocolate and then decorated with spiders and ghosts. Well, I'm on the hunt for a good idea this year.

I'm looking for something fairly simple to make (remember, I have a toddler to contend with while I'm in the kitchen) and something that doesn't require a lot of time - oh, and something that's pretty pleasing to lots of people (I know I'll eat just about anything, but in an office, sometimes there are picky people).

Any ideas?

**oh, and it should probably be something that can just be picked up and carried off - not like a cake or pie that requires plates, forks, etc.

Mini devil's food cupcakes decorated - they don't take long to whip up and they can just pop them into their mouth and enjoy.

You can always bake them ahead of time, cool completely and freeze - thaw for an hour and frost when ready.

At a Halloween party (long ago) these were served and instead of frosting them - a chocolate wafer (any color can be used) and instead of melting and glazing the top, the wafers were placed on top and popped in the microwave to melt/ spread and place a Halloween candy on top.

that does sound pretty easy. I'll keep that in mind.

I've also been debating on just making up several kinds of "fall" cookies and taking a big platter of those.

dangit, if I just hadn't convinced everyone that I can cook I'd be off the hook with a bag of snickers! :p

Cup cakes with orange icing decorated to look like pumpkin faces.

that's what my mom used to do for us she used to bake cup cakes and decorate them with orange white and black icing and she drew bats ghost etc.

but now I don't have as much as time as she did plus it's hard work so I just made anything I find on free recipes sites(such us recipebuddys.com) the other day one recipe surprise me it's really good and this is what I do for Halloween now is bake pumpkin cookies
