Omelette

I made an omelette today, and believe it or not it was my first time. I put way too much cheese in it, but it still tasted pretty good. Next time I'm going to add cinnamon.

MMM I love omelettes! My husband makes them almost every Say morning. Usually just a simple cheese one, but sometimes with grilled veggies. I never tried cinnamon though.

I also love omlette.
But I prefer boiled than omlette. I know how to make omlette also.

mmm i love omelettes but im not brave enough to attempt one yet

I haven't had an omelette in forever.... Maybe that's what I'll make this weekend instead of the usual pancakes and eggs.

Adding fillings to omelets is like adding them to tacos, tamales, egg rolls, spring rolls, etc. You always want to add a lot to make them nice yet you really only need to add a little bit to make a nice omelet. Less is More.

I like omelettes and have made them many times, but never heard of cheese omelette. Thanks kaabi for the tip.

You've never heard of a cheese omelette??? Wow, that's one of the most basic omelettes around here. The other basic omelettes are, ham&cheese, turkey&cheese, mushrooms&cheese, pretty much anything and cheese. My husband likes tons of stuff in his omelettes, cheese, ham, turkey, mushrooms, onions, salsa, and anything else that might taste good.

Another omelette type is the Western, and I have no idea what's in that. I added cinnamon today, and it tasted fantastic. Does chocolate go good with eggs ;)

thanks to this thread, I tried making an omelette for my very picky kids and they went nuts for it! Hurray! Thanks, y'all.

I know the Western has tomatoes, can't remember what else.

Great. Here we only have omelettes with salt, red pepper, onions, tomatoes and green chillies. Sometimes milk to make it fluffy. But never heard of all those ingredients. Would love to try.

That sounds like a Vegetarian Southwest Omelette. I know some vegetarians don't eat eggs, but some do, and that's the group that would probably like that omelette. I'd try it myself, but I can't eat spicy foods right now. The baby doesn't like it when I eat them, I get terrible heartburn. I can't wait till Christmas, when this little guy is due and I can eat a big heaping plate of nachos with jalapeno cheddar cheese.

The way I make a Western Omelet is with about 1 tbsp chopped tomatoes, 1 tbsp chopped green bell pepper, 1 tbsp chopped ham, and optionally, some cheddar cheese. Occasionally, I'll mix a few dashes of Tabasco Sauce in with the eggs.

I have seen some NY deli's that serve omelets with ham, and bleu cheese. They're different but are pretty good.

Are you pregnant? Congratulations.

Thanks. I've been having some major cravings this time around too... I went a whole week eating nothing but hot ham and cheese sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. This week's kick is Pop-Tarts. Two weeks ago, it was cheese and refried bean quesadillas. I never know what to buy me when we go grocery shopping thanks to the cravings.

Phoneyxstarr, when I was pregnant, I had wicked cravings my first trimester for baked potatoes. Later on had a Krispy Kreme craving that was SO bad that one time my husband joked about eating the last Krispy Kreme and I cried for 10 minutes straight. :p

Congrats on your omelete! i like veggies in mine like spinach and peppers.
