Tonight we are having shepherds pie. Nothing fancy just your basic browned hamburger meat, a layer of corn, and a layer of mashed potatoes. Just basic comfort food

Just...what do cha mean just??? Comfort Food is simply the best no just about it;)

Funny I was justtoday talking to my gal pal at work about Shepard's Pie she had never had it so of-corssseee I gotta 'splain it to 'er! And as I was talking to her 'bout it I said somethin along tha lines of I wonder how it'd be to invert the whole process, put some melted butter into my casserole dish and then the potatoes, then the meat, then the shredded chees on top and bake until them taters were nice and brown on the bottom?!? Hum I got to thinkin' that isn't a half-bad idear, and you know what I am gonna give it a try this week!;):p:) I love browned potatoes anything!!!

Cottage pie.

Cottage pie for dinner, tonight. Made with minced beef.
Unlike Shepherds pie. Which is traditionally made with minced lamb.
I am cheating, terribly, though. I'm using a particularly tasty, ready made sauce mix. Which, try as I might. I just can't emulate. As has already been said. I also love browned mash potatoes. I shall probably throw in a few extra frozen peas, as well.

The favorite part of a TV dinner when I was a kid was the way the mashed potatoes browned in those aluminum trays. The green peas were a favorite too. I don't know why frozen peas today aren't as good as those in a TV dinner back then were. Maybe I should start baking them in foil, lol.

I don't think vegetables were ever meant to be frozen. Look what happens to Strawberries! A definite case in point.
