I cut the following recipe in half because it was just the three of us eating them. If I were taking them somewhere I would use the whole recipe as they will go fast! Wait until they are mostly cool before eating so that they have time to fall back down and the chips can harden, otherwise you will have a big mess. These cookies were very rich, chocolaty, moist and chewy. I will definitely be making them again. Everyone in the house liked them.

Ingredients

* 1 cup butter, softened
* 1 1/2 cups white sugar
* 2 eggs
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 2/3 cup cocoa powder
* 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
* 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
3. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; stir into the butter mixture until well blended. Batter will be extremely thick.
4. Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
5. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or just until set. Cool slightly on the cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Cookies will be puffed up right out of the oven but they will fall as they cool.

This Picture really look tasty and delicious! I just want to know if, you have tested adding some more like, marsh mallows or rice krispies (correct my spelling if wrong). If so, does the taste and texture of chocolate chip cookies affected? Thanks!

I've never tried adding anything else but I think you're on to something there;)
