when you were still a beginner in baking what is the easiest recipe you have prepared? I'm just a beginner in baking. I am having a hard time looking for recipes that is easy to prepare and follow. Hope you can share some recipes to me. Thanks

CLASSIC YELLOW BUTTER CAKE


3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened
4 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup milk

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) round baking pans. Set aside.
Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in large bowl. Set aside.
Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Reduce speed to low. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition just until mixed.
Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 29 to 34 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire racks 10 minutes. Loosen edge of cake by running knife around inside edge. Carefully remove cake from pan; cool completely.

Prepare your favorite frosting. Frost cake.


DOUBLE CHOCOLATE SNACK CAKE

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup real semi-sweet chocolate chunks*
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup cold water

Heat oven to 325°F. Combine flour, sugar, chocolate chunks, cocoa, baking soda and salt in ungreased 8-inch square baking dish. Make three depressions in flour mixture. Pour light butter into one, vinegar into the second and vanilla into the third. Pour water over all ingredients; stir until well mixed.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.

*Substitute 1/2 cup real semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Yield: 9 servings


Super Moist Mayonnaise Cake

2 cups plain flour, sifted
1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

Mix the above (dry ingredients) together.

1 cup mayonnaise
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup water

Mix well and add to dry ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees 25-30 minutes or until done.



Wacky Cake

* 1 1/2 cups flour
* 1 cup sugar
* 3 tablespoons cocoa
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 5 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine or oil
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
* 1 cup warm water

In an un-greased 8x8 pan combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Make three holes in the mixture, then pour oil, butter or margarine into one hole, vanilla into another hole, and vinegar into the third. Add warm water and mix until well blended.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve as is or frost.


Dream Whip Frosting

1 Envelope dream whip
1 package Vanilla instant pudding
1 1/2 cups Cold milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla

In a chilled, deep bowl, blend and whip dream whip, instant pudding,
cold milk and vanilla until stiff, 3-8 minutes. Immediately frost cake.
Must refrigerate!



Chocolate Butter Frosting

* ; 2 tablespoons melted butter
* ; 3 tablespoons cocoa
* ; 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
* ; 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
* ; 1 tablespoon milk

In a medium size bowl, sift powdered sugar and cocoa together. Add melted butter and 1 tablespoon milk and enough more milk to make a good spreading consistency. Spread on cooled brownies.
Mama's Tip: Try sprinkling brownies with finely chopped nuts.
