1 cup Gold Medal all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts, if desired

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1 3/4 cups very hot water

Ice cream, buy it or make your own

Heat oven to 350 F.

Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, the baking powder and salt in ungreased square pan, 9x9x3 inches. Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread in pan.

Sprinkle brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa over batter. Pour water over batter.

Bake about 40 minutes or until top is dry.

Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes. Top with ice cream. Spoon sauce from pan onto each serving.

Special Touch:
Have an ice-scream! Serve up this fun dessert at your next get-together and include other ice-cream toppings such as chopped nuts, crushed cookies, candy sprinkles and maraschino cherries.

You can make a similar one in your crockpot.

2 - 3 1/2 Qt crockpot (can use larger, just double all ingredients, cook for same amount of time)

1 C All Purpose Flour
1/2 C Granulated Sugar
2 Tbl Baking Cocoa
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 C Milk
2 Tbl Vegetable Oil
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 C Chopped Nuts
3/4 C Packed Brown Sugar
1/4 C Baking Cocoa
1 1/2 C Hot Water

Spray inside of crockpot with cooking spray, set aside.
Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 Tbl cocoa, baking powder and salt in mdium bowl. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla until smooth. Stir in nuts if using. Spread batter evenly in crockpot.
Mix brown sugar and 1/4 C cocoa in small bowl. Stir in hot water until smooth. Pour evenly over batter in slow cooker. DO NOT STIR!
Cover and cook on high heat 2-2 1/2 hours or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Turn off crockpot, remove lid. Let cake stand uncovered, 30-40 minutes to cool slightly before serving.l This also helps the sauce to thicken. Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes, spoon sauce over top. Enjoy.
