2-3 1/2 Qt crock pot slow cooker, inside sprayed with cooking spray
(larger one can be used, just double all ingredients)

Cake
1 C all purpose flour
1/2 C granulated sugar
2 Tbl baking cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C milk
2 Tbl vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 C chopped nuts (optional)
"Pudding"
3/4 C packed brown sugar
1/2 C baking cocoa powder
1 1/2 C hot water

Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 Tbl cocoa, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla until smooth. Stir in nuts if desired. Spread batter evenly in prepared slow cooker.
Mix brown sugar and 1/4 C cocoa in small bowl. Stir in hot water until smooth. Pour evenly over batter in slow cooker. DO NOT STIR!
Cover and cook on high heat 2-2 1/2 hours, no matter what size slow cooker you are using, or until toothpick inserted in center cake comes out clean.
Turn off slow cooker, remove cover and let stand 30-40 minutes to cool slightly before serving. This standing time helps the "pudding" to thicken also. Spoon warm cake into dessert dishes, spoon "pudding" over top and serve.
Excellent topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
