1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
3/4 cup quick or old fashioned oatmeal, uncooked
1/2 cup onion or green bell pepper, chopped
1/3 cup chili sauce, plus extra
6 hamburger buns
6 dill pickles, optional
Prepare broiler. Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl. Season with salt or seasoned salt and pepper to taste. Mix well. Divide into patties. Grill or broil about 5 inches from heat source 5-6 minutes per side, or until cooked throughout. Serve on hamburger buns with extra chili sauce and pickles (optional).
