and got up this AM to make breakfast, only to discover that fact. There is just NO WAY I would eat grits with-out either of those ingredients! Now being a southern girl and loving my grits for breakfast I had to think for minute about what to do>>>>>so BINGO it came to me!!!! Use chicken bouillon in my water and make cheese grits. It worked fantastico'! Here's the new Cheese Grits recipe that resulted from my forgetfulness at the grocery store!!!!

1 1/2 cup Water
3/4 cup grits (cooks in 5 minutes variety)
1/4 cup milk
2 chicken bouillon cubes
fresh ground pepper
5 slices of American cheese or cheddar cheese

Bring water & bouillion cubes to a boil then slowly add grits while stirring constatnly bring back to a low boil, after a few min's add milk then cheese and pepper. Continue to stir and cook on med. low until done adding additional water if needed
(they are done for me when they reach a thick gruel stage, not too dry, and stir almost constantly as they will clump if not.. YUCK I do not like lumpy grits only CREAMY:p)

P.S. Grits are really good when you mix them into your eggs!!!!
