Crazy weather here. 70 degrees here today. 50's tonight and 30's tomorrow with snow and thunderstorms. I really hope it doesnt get cold enough to snow/frost.

It is bleh outside today.
39 and the temp is dropping. Supposed to get down to 25 tonight. I guess we can kiss all of the lovely fruit blossoms good bye. They are all so pretty at my father in laws. I hate to loose those apples and pears. It is putting down a mix of snow and rain right now.

It's cold here again, and there is snow on the ground. I hope we get warmer weather soon. The sun is out today so that's Good!!Cookie :)

The weather has stayed some what warm here but we have had some reall good head banging thunderstorms all day today.
I hope that everyone's fruit trees survive what ever cold is moving through certain areas.

Got by last night without frost. Tonight it is supposed to be even colder without any cloud cover. So far it is after 2am and it is only down to 39.
I had put some herbs in boxes on the balcony and noticed today one of them is already coming through the dirt so I brought it inside tonight. I think it is the basil.
I took my brother to the store today and on the way back it poured snow like crazy but didnt stick. It was so odd to see snow falling on easter flowers. My FIL mowed his yard today with a coat and hat on and snow falling lol.

It's been CRAZY here too, all. Rain all day Sunday- SNOW Sunday night. Clouds and drizzle Monday- 28 degrees now. UGH! I hope to get my hands in the dirt out on my little patio container garden this weekend, but we shall see it weather permits.

I saw a dandelion today- which means our top-soil is now at 50 degrees... I'm itchin' to start some plantin', but just when I think it's time- the snow comes again- dadblast-it anyway!

We have had dandilions here for a couple of weeks now but I'm still afraid to plant anything. I have the seeds for my vegetable garden germinating in a mini green house though so when it's all cear we will be ready to go.

My Mom used to pick dandelions greens and cook them. She used to pick something for me she called wild lettuce. It was good when it was small but when it got big it became bitter. Jon's Dad was just asking me yesterday about the health benefits of dandelion. My basil on the balcony is already up peeking through the dirt.

Uh oh..just called Jon's Dad and he was outside using the water hose on his apple trees. He said they frosted last night.

Janie, dandy lions add a bitter tone to a salad, the way chicory and similar greens do.

However, you want to go easy with them, because they are a mild laxative and a strong diuretic. That's one reason they are used as part of a spring tonic (i.e., to help flush out the system).

Anyone suffering gallstones or a gall bladder inflamation should not use dandelion except under the direction of a qualified health care provider.

Does that include drinking dandelion wine? Despondent sayeth not. ;)

Dandelions kept our family alive during the Great Depression and for many years after that. There is nothing like a dandelion salad - too bad they aren't around long enough to enjoy them for a longer period of time. And is suburbia - you don't get dandelions - too many dogs and too many lawn service companies.

Dandelions :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I Love dandelion's, it reminds me of spring-summer. I haven't seen any this spring so far, still to cold! I love the color of dandelion's and used to pick a bunch and put them in a vase, (when I was very young  in my teens.) Dandelion's still make me Happy when I see them pop out! Cookie :)

This is the first Easter I have had without my pet bunny Baron in several years.

I will kinda be glad to see all of the bunny stuff go away.

Baron, was so cute, I'm sorry for your loss. I had another bird Sky for 10 yrs. and this is my first Easter without her. I feel she's always with me in spirit. I call her Angel Bird now. Cookie :)
