This time of year my favorite veggies are a medley of carrots/parsnips/turnips sauteed in brown-butter and sprinkled w/ parsley. I also enjoy creamed spinach, or a bubbling dish of cauliflower gratin.
What seasonal sides do you like this time of year?

I probably have a baked sweet potato twice a week, rice or pasta the other days. seldon eat potatos unless I pick up a handful of fingerlings.
Creamed spinach sounds good, I seem to forget it at home. Get baby bok choy when it's available. Otherwise pick from fresh stuff and round meals out with salads and frozen veggies, love tiny green beans.

Here in central Illinois we have a cheapo discount grocery chain called Aldi's, Nan. Some of their products are great, others not-so-great! They do carry frozen one pounders of petite tender green beans- and boy were they quite the find! SO delicious- impressive in every way- and so cheap they're almost free!
