Reminds me of Dolly Parton's new restaurant "chain", Cathy. It's called Dixie Stampede and evidently you sit and dine around this arena where, in the center a RODEO is taking place! Crazy!

Years ago she had a lovely fine-dining restaurant on Maui called "Dockside Plantation" or D.P.'s for short. I never got to see it or eat there but friends I had, did. It was reportedly quite a lovely place!

That would be wild!

There used to be a Polynesian restaurant in Columbus called Kahiki. I loved that place. It was so kitschy. The whole restaurant was shaped like a huge Polynesian hut with big wood carved statues outside. Once you were inside there was a fish tank on one side and a rainforest on the other where they made artificial rain and thunder. Then they played songs like tiny bubbles all through the restaurant. Drinks came in outrageous glasses. Tikki heads, skulls and one came in a ceramic volcano with dry ice in the middle. They had the best Peking duck I've ever had. Kahiki come back!!!

That sounds like a real blast! You know after reading this Thread I have come to a CONCLUSION....There Should Be More Theme Restaurants! I even love those Japanese Grills where the chef gives you a great performance as he prepares your meal right before your eyes!
