Hey Gang,
Any other fellow Illinoisans here at the site, who have ever been to this place? My cousin's marrying this Spring and her rehearsal dinner is here... and after checking out the kitchy menu and reading the interesting history of the place, I'm really looking forward to experiencing it! Seems it was started as a hidden-in-a-hillside juke joint back during prohibition and was a reputed gangster hang-out!

love it, bullet holes in the menu and all, hehe
there was a place somewhat like this in Galveston, out at the end of a long pier. guess the "Rat Pack and Friends" used to hang out back there. when law was coming in some one in a shop out by the street had a buzzer to ring down the pier.
from what I understand hurricane Ike wiped it out.
damn, it was always closed for season when I was there.
am sure it will be a fun place to celebrate

Cool Kevin, I think it's funny the photos in the menu, one even shows a shot of Frank shot by police 1927! LOL
My favorite fun restaurant was in California called "
Midieval Times" a sort of arena you sit around to eat while watchin' jousting and renasance type activities as you dine.... really wild and terribly fun especially with a group of folks from work!!!!!
Here's the link to their website:

I've gone to Medieval Times a few times Cathy. My kids loved it and I honestly enjoyed the food.

Same here IC! On one occassion they had Rock Cornish Hens and I can not recall the other, but I know we loved it. I like the atmosphere and the cheering for your team etc....especially eating with your hands. It now cost around $150.00 for 2 adults and one child YIKES:eek: But it is too fun!
