Funny Story

I went to one of the grocery stores here in town to get a small turkey for Jon and I to have on Thanksgiving. I run into this little lady we know. We have fixed her computer a couple of times. She is as tough as nails lol. She comes charging around the corner and sees me. She asks which was I was going and I told her. She said good I need someome to reach the butter for me. She is pretty short. Well she then tells me to make it quick because there was only a few packs of the butter left lol. She starts telling me on the way about the desserts she has been making. She loves to make desserts and give them away. I get her butter while she was telling me about making pie crusts. I told her I just buy my crusts premade and she asks me if I was going to get any of the butter. It was on sale for $1.50 a pound. I said no that I had some margarine in the fridge. WELL that got her going. I got told about my pie crust never turning out because I used margarine lol. I never got a chance to break in there and tell her when I did make pie crusts I bought butter to make them with lol. After I got a good chewing out I threw two pounds of butter into my cart and she was happy lol. My pie crust turn out fine if I make them. I just dont have much room and Im lazy lol. Oh boy did she let me have it.
I told Jon about it when I got home and he laughed so hard he had tears in his eyes. Then I called Jons Dad to ask if he would look at my favorite lamp that stopped working and he took the opportunity to tease me about going to my mother in laws for dinner tomorrow. It must have been pick on Janie day. Jon, his Mom and the two nieces all have birthdays within a month of each other so she has one dinner for them all. She is doing a Thanksgiving meal because we all do our own thing then. Im taking honey roasted sweet potatoes and three bean salad.

Ha! Great story, janie! I'm glad you were able to make the 'l'il ole gal happy by snaggin' some butter! Have fun at MIL's tomorrow!

Hey- can I ask you a computer question?

My computer at home has some kind of bug (I think). One day I started getting blue screens and all sorts of warning windows about spyware, etc. Well, I didn't have the money to do anything about it, so I just shut it off and unplugged it. Ever few days I'd get back on it and each time it's slower and slower and now- a month later, all the pop-up warning windows get worse and worse- and things get slower and slower.

Well, eventually I'll likely just pay to take it somewhere and have it loked at- but here's my question: I have my just-completed 350 page cookbook on it. What can I do to make sure I don't get screwed by completely losing it?

So far I have tried saving it to a disc and a flash-drive, with no success. Maybe I'm not giving it long enuf time... but it's almost like my Dell isn't even recognizing the thumb-drive when I stick it in.

Any thoughts? (If I lost that writing project, that's been 10 years in the writing, I'd proll'y have to jump off a bridge!)

KEVIN Do Not Jump!!! I am sure Janie can help you....

Janie that story is so funny, I feel for you being hammered by "Granny", and then today at MIL's place, Wow I bet you'll be glad when this weekend is over:D Good Luck, I hope it goes well over there!!!

2 questions Hon.
What format is your book saved in? Is it saved with a .txt extension after the name or something else?
How did you try and save it? Did you try to burn it to cd using a cd burning program?

I'm with Cathy ...don't jump ! lol..you keep us on our toes around here !
Sounds like you need to do some major virus scans .
