You guys have heard me talk about Jons Thai friend.
Well we went to their house the other day to fix the Dad's computer.
I mentioned I got a carbon steel wok at KMart. The Mom and Dad said they bought the same one and it was junk. I go oh yeah..why? They told me the first time she cooked in it the food came out green and this stuff was peeling off the pan.

Well the one I got had instructions that said to clean the pan thoroughly with a scowering pad to get the protective film off of the inside of the wok. Then you were to reseason it a few times before using. It included directions on how to reseason it which I did to mine. I asked them if she did that to hers and acted like she had no idea what I was talking about lol. I think she cooked in hers with the protective coating still on it :eek: They threw the pan away and are still blaming Kmart. I told them I had the same one and was very happy with it.

I have a carbon steel wok - you scour and season and re-season - and I'm Italian and I knew that1................

Evidently the directions went into the trash quickly followed by dinner and then the wok lol.
