Gas prices here in KY were well on their way up yesterday.
I was very happy when the governor stepped in and invoked the anti price gouging law. It went from $3.55 to $4.05 a gallon here yesterday. I hate to see what it could have gone to without the governor stepping in. I know they did the same thing in WV.
What are the prices like where you live?

$4.19 at 8:30AM when I came home from work this morning, janie. Haven't been out yet tonight to see where they are now.

Work was crazy last night. I work the graveyard shift at State Farm Insurance's huge corporate headquarters here in Bloomington. I am an entry-level operator in CMS or "Central Montioring Services". We monitor 17,000 agents' office security systems from coast to coast.

With Ike hitting Galveston and Houston at about 02:00 this morning we received non-stop power failure, telephone/computer systems failure, and environmental/mechanical and other alarms- they were pouring-in NON-STOP all night long.

Also had a HUGE surplus of fire and burglary alarms. Though the burgs were all caused by high winds blowing in doors and windows- thank God NONE of them were actual burglaries from looters or anything like that. Normally my job is real kick-back with barely a thing to do. But last night in preparation for the storm, we were triple-staffed, and I left my 8 hour shift this morning totally stressed from the constant phone-chatter, sirens and alarm receiving. It was pretty CRAZY!

But, it was NOTHING compared to the craziness those poor folks down there had to deal with! Like you- I wonder just what gas prices will do? I just woke up- haven't checked out the news at all- I better go turn on CNN and Fox...

Well over $4................and we get every dang tax there is out there on it too.

Ike didn't even hit and they were raising it 15 cents a gallon every 1/2 hour.

There is no call for it -
