Well, gang... I was bakin' up a storm this afternoon. Made several pans of raspberry/coconut shortbreads, and three 9X13 pyrex dishes of walnut fudge. I still have Bear Paws, pecan sandies, chocolate-dipt pretzel rods, rum balls and cashew brittle to make. Between my work, my sister's work, church and family I have 5 cookie/treat trays to have product for by Tuesday...

Tonight is my "Firday" here at work, then I'll be home for a few days off where I currently don't have web access, so this'll be the last chance I get to check-in before the 25th.

Wishing you all the brightest, warmest holiday possible. May your week be full of all your favorite things- and may your bellies and your hearts be tickled with warmth and deepest satisfaction! smiles & hugs- k. P.S. Here's the EZ fudge recipe I've used for years- I just love it! :)

Mamie Eisenhower’s Million Dollar Christmas Fudge

When Mamie Eisenhower came to the White House, she brought along a recipe for fudge that called for marshmallow creme. Her candy was so creamy the president reportedly called it the "million dollar" fudge.

4-1/2 c. sugar
pinch of salt
2 T. butter
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 (12 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate chips
1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow creme
2 c. chopped walnuts (or pecans)
Combine sugar, salt, butter, and evaporated milk in large, heavy-bottomed saucepan. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently, until temp reaches 240 degrees (aprox. 6 minutes).
Add chocolate pieces, marshmallow crème and walnuts; stir vigorously until chocolate is melted and mixture is creamy.
Pour into buttered 9 x13 x2 inch glass Pyrex dish. Let stand in refrigerator for a couple of hours and cut. Store in tightly covered box. Makes 5 pounds candy.

Have a great one Kev!

I think we are following your lead today too. I am making peasant bread in a dutch oven for the first time. Keeping fingers crossed. :P

Also making up some garlic/rosemary infused EVOO for my Aunt who is having a birthday today.

The wife is making cookies. Nothing else much to do when it snows a couple inches every hour..

Merry Xmas! :)
