Jon has an Aunt who is doing chemo and radiation right now. She is terminal but they are trying to buy her more time. Jon's Mom asked me to make her some food they plan to take to her Sunday. I was thinking a lightly seasoned chicken noodle soup with homemade honey buttermilk bread and some soft sugar cookies from scratch? It goes against my grain to make bland food but her stomach is easily upset. They said she loves homemade bread and sweets.
Do you guys think this will be ok? Any other suggestions?

Janie, sounds good to me. I would enjoy it. I am pretty sure she will to. Really nice of you to do that. CF

Thanks Hon. I thought the soup would be something that traveled well and she can reheat it. Jon is planning to go with his Mom and Stepfather to visit her Saturday. I have only met her once. We are not close and honestly I just do not want to see someone else suffering through cancer. It is what killed my Mom and Dad plus a close family friend called last night and said his Mom was just diagnosed with cancer in her liver and pancreas. Jon has only seen her a couple of times in the past 12 years but he wants to see her while he can.

I'm cooking my brother's pick up order for tomorrow. A rotisserie chicken, tater soup, 2 loves of garlic bread, greens, krab salad, fudge and extra garlic butter. His wife requested my rosemary garlic Focaccia and a blooming onion with dipping sauce. She is gonna get onion petals because they are a heck of a lot safer and easier to fry than a whole onion. Last time I made them a blooming onion that was my one and only grease fire. I plan to keep it that way.

Sounds like you have a catering service. Wish I was closer. I would just stop cooking. Naw, I really do enjoy cooking as I think you do to. I haven't had any grease fire, but saw one in a BBQ pit once. Not fun. Be safe. CF

I skipped the onion petals. I got all of the other stuff done but just did not have time to do those.
My hubby left about an hour ago with his Mom and Stepdad to take his Aunt the soup and other stuff. I am enjoying the peace and quiet lol.
