How is Everyone Handling the Heat?

The heat has been brutal here for weeks but especially the past few days.
Highs around 100 with 90% humidity during the daytime. We have been getting errands done early and going to Walmart for grocery items very late. Going to Walmart after dark is an adventure in itself living in the country there are deer everywhere. I came across 10 the other night and I think they were all feeling suicidal.
We have been getting some hard storms with hail off and on for a few days. My brother and sister have both been without electric at times due to the severe storms. Living on the main street in town our electric has stayed on thankfully.
Is everyone else suffering the heat? Take care of yourselves guys!

I live in Louisiana. We don't have any heat here just cool all the time. OMG I think I'm off my meds again.

I'm not handling it well - not at all and with the rotten storms and winds we have to close everything up - not comfortable for sure.

Weird for me in Southern California since it is supposed to be Summer here, but awoke with the furnace running....cold!

Here in New England it's hot, muggy and mostly horrid. All of a sudden, over the weekend, the mosquitoes hit, as well, making it miserable to be outside after dark. These critters defy even large citronella candles and devil a person who is simply trying to water their garden! But the watering has to happen - mainly after dark - in order for most of the veggies to survive. My strawberry plants are loving this heat and sun, though. As for me, during the height of the hot days I become a total sloth - turning on a fan or the a/c on low and napping. What else is one to do? Over the years I've come to the realization that I weather cold much better than heat.....I can always put on enough clothing to stay warm but cannot take off enough to be cool without danger of being arrested!!

I can't take this humidity - we just had a horrible storm - the rains and winds were so bad that we actually had a white out! I thought it was snowing outside. There was a mysterious mist - very eerie - the thunder was so loud that the house shook, the lightning was really scary and I live in the middle of a lightning path - and to top it off - we had a 5.0 earthquake - which actually hit Ottawa and traveled this way! Great day and it ain't over yet! Now it's the afterhshocks and the remaining storms heading this way from the Chicago area....................and the beep, beep, beef on the weather channel warning us of what is coming soon...........and they are warning everyone in Chicago to take cover -

Not terrible in PA. High humidity and high temps here as well. But I have been expecting a brutal summer... I mean come on look at the winter that we had!! Best thing to do is make sure you have an ice cold beverage & cold cuts. I feel like eating hot food on hot days is just so draining... & HOTT!!! haha I can't wait until September & October those are the nice months where it's not to hot & not to cold!

GOOD LUCK SURVIVING THIS HEAT!
I have actually just taken on a volunteer project to help a historical society around my area & I am going to be painting a fence! Wish me luck. ha

Is it just me, or are country-wide weather patterns becoming absolutely flakey?
Cool enough for the furnace in Southern California, killer tornadoes and weird "whiteout" rain storms, earthquakes! Have we somehow stepped on someone's celestial tail? So far, this summer has been pretty brutal, no matter what section of the country you happen to live in!

More truth to that than you may realize. If you REALLY want to be scared, do a search for "WebBots" and find the creators' website and spend $10 to download their latest (#6) update that covers our lives/world 4 weeks from now thru 4 months, 36 pages of hard to read stuff. The small fee is charged to keep most of the disbelievers away.

I spent a week one summer in San Diego. Breeze coming off of the Pacific and no one had the AC on. A lot don't even have AC. 30 minutes inland though and it's a furnace.

Can you say....

Climate change, maybe? The entire world is experiencing upheavals in weather and acute earth anomolies. Earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, hail and just about the whole gamut. And this disaster is the Gulf will change life for the whole world I fear. I'm putting together an emergency pack little by little with each shopping trip, which is down to 1X/week with the temps so high. I've gotta pack enough for myself and Allie to survive for a while. :D
