I know most of us were cooking. How did it go for everyone?

I had 12+ for dinner. My FIL made hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, mashed potatoes and dressing. My SIL made lasagna. They were 45 minutes late so Jon, his Dad and I had already started eating when they came. I had baked rigatoni, spaghetti with sauce, garlic butter, pizza hut style bread sticks, garlic pull aparts, pizza dipping sauce, italian pasta salad, roasted garlic french bread, texas garlic toast, cheese plate with colby, smoked swiss, smoked cheddar & ham on it. I also had giant stuffed olives, pickled garlic, pickled mixed veggies and pickled mushrooms on a plate with assorted crackers all on the table. On the dessert table I had a apple pie Jons Dad made along with two cherry crumb pies I made and chocolate brownies, cupcakes, chocolate covered almonds and dark chocolate truffles.
Of course it rained heavy all day long. Made getting all of the stuff in the car to get to his Dads difficult. Atleast it was a little warmer that day.
After everyone took the leftovers they wanted all that was left were a few spaghetti noodles and some sauce. Everything else was gone right down to the pickled garlic lol. There was one whole cherry pie left which worked out good. That is my fil's fav. Jons SIL gave her lasagna to her Mom and then she took the last two pieces of my baked pasta lol. Jons brother was giving her a hard time telling her it looked funny. I didnt try it. I already had my plate when they got there.

On Christmas Day we stayed home and I made orange balsamic hens, mac and cheese, oyster dressing and creamsicle pies for the two of us.

My 10th anniversary is on New Years Day. Im trying to think of something special to make for Jon but right now Im drawing a blank lol.
Im kinda all cooked out for a few days. You have heard of writers block ..well I have cooks block lol.

Wow, janie. Your spread sounds incredible! I'm a turkey and hamed-out for this winter! I'd KILL for a big ole plate of lasagne or cheesey baked rigatoni tonight! YUM! Good job!

We had a ham on the 23 and I made a lasagna for Christmas Eve so went with something different for the Christmas meal. I was going to make a rib roast but the 75.00 price tag was unbelievable for a roast for 5.

I decided to go with a pot roast in the crock pot. I made the gravy using the Minute Tapioca. An experiment that turned out with, Thank God, wonderful results. I posted the recipe in the crock pot thread. Pickled beets and red cabbage were the veggies.
I made Yorkshire puddings and mashed potatoes for the gravy of course. For dessert I made a German apple strudel with a homemade strudel dough that turned out very flaky. I impressed myself with it.
