Kevin, sure does look bad. I know in our area with the storms its the heavy rain and flooding that cause the most damage. We are not to near the gulf, so the rain is what we usually get. Maybe the water will start to recede soon. CF:)

Today they asked if FEMA is going to run out of money but they claim its from some hidden fund. I wonder just how much is hidden elsewhere - that the government can't give people their cost of living raises for 3 years now and they are taking food stamps away from people that need them.
FEMA does not GIVE anything to anyone - you can BORROW and pay interest on it.

Speaking os strange weather...

With the huge heatwave that was everywhere this summer- including here in Illinois. After a couple weeks of rather nice stuff- we actually saw our HOTTEST day Thursday. We reached 101. And a nearby town reached 106. These are actual ambient temps- not heat indexes. Sheesh! So much for the dog days of AUGUST! September's shaping up to be quite a scorcher so far.

Weatherman is calling for sustained HOT temps the next couple days- and then remarkably highs of only the low 70's Labor Day and all next week. I like! :)

We had a couple days of cool weather and we actually had to put a blanket on the bed at night for several nights. Now the humidity is back again - but it won't last - fall is in the air - you can feel it and smell it. I can't wait! Love fall - dread winter.
