I can't watch scary movies. They make me want to sleep with the lights on.
It's silly, I know, but I know that I'm that way, so I don't watch them.
Like that recent movie When a Stranger Calls, where the babysitter kept getting weird phone calls and when they were traced, it turned out the person was IN THE HOUSE????
Yikes, I'm never watching that one!

I enjoy a good horror flick - but - I enjoy all the old ones - Lon Chaney, Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff and Vincent Price. I even enjoy the old B & W's from the 50's. I do not like total gore - I cannot handle Texas Chainsaw movies (watched the frist 5 minutes and that was it for me) and I cannot handle Hellraiser movies or Hannibal (or whatever) movies.
Because I was such a workaholic I have never seen Psycho until about 15 years ago. Sure - she gets killed in the shower scene - big deal. Yeah - until I saw it! Scared the crap outta me! Jaws got to me too - I looked for sharks wherever there was water. But it is a very good movie. Halloween scared the crap out of me - he wouldn't die! But I did like it.
I'm not into the Jason and Freddie movies - cripe - I'd rather watch Godzilla movies where none of the lips match the voices! Red Rose was good. Stephen King is good.
The old B & W movie - Night of the Living Dead - sorry - don't like waitching them eat body parts. And not into "witch/demon/exorcist" movies. I did see the Exorcist when it first came out - and I would never want to see it again or any other movie like it.
Alfrd Hitchcock movies are good too.

I'm more of a comedy girl when it comes to movies. I just like to escape for awhile and have a good laugh.

I went to see "The Night Listener" last weekend. Robin Williams was great, as were the supporting actors. The book translated well to the big screen. If you haven't read the book, you'll be at an advantage and on the edge of your chair. I'd say it's a must-see if you enjoy thrillers. Based loosely on a real life account, BTW.
