Rain Rain and More Rain

It has been pouring here since yesterday. Many places are already flooded yet again and it is supposed to keep this up for several more days.
We have been having terrible storms all night long. Rains have been heavy enough to either wash off gardens or beat them into the ground.
 
we have been waiting for the storms to hit us and they keep passing - but today we will get them- it looks really nasty out there the last ones were so fierce I thought my home was parked under Niagara Falls
 
I'm sorry JP. I didnt mean to whine about the rain with everything you have going on. There is a FEMA rep set up in the next county over from here already doing assesments from the last floods when this one hit. So many people here have lost everything I just hate to see it hit them again. Work and money invested in ruined gardens and flooded homes and cars.
We are lucky since we live in a 2nd floor apartment in town so flooding never gets to us. They showed some pics on our local news last night and it is already bad again in some areas.
 
Hey Janie. You have every right to whine. I've been watching all the tragedy in Arkansas with the flash flooding there. Some BP oil doesn't lessen everyone else's problems. You hang in there girl.
 
I hope FEMA does more for you than they did for us up here when we had that horrible October storm a few years back! They covered NOTHING - all they wanted to do was give everyone a loan that they would have to pay back.

I honestly do not know of anyone around here who has gotten help from them now or in the past.
All of this rain is doing strange things to the gardens. Many things are maturing when they are still way to small. We are lucky our garden hasnt washed off so any thing from it is good.

I didnt think til after I made the post Hon but I shouldnt have said anything about floods. It really is nothing compared to the devastation from the spill.
 
I wouldn't count on anything from FEMA! And then after they take your SS numbers FIRST or they won't answer one single question - they lose the data and you have to worry - been there - done that!
 
Storms hit day before yesterday with large hail and flattened my brother in laws garden. I tell you nature is against them this year when it comes to that garden.
We live about 10 miles from them and even though we got a storm we did not get the hail.
