Sunday Favs

I love you Kev but we have drastically different taste in music.

Ha! That's okay Janie. You're close enough to perfect for me- if your music tastes are lass than perfect- I'm happy to deal w/ that-HA! (Just kiddin' dear!) :)

I have this thing about acoustics. For me the voice must be pleasant (no screaming!) and the sounds have to come from natural instruments- NO electronics! The 80's were HELL on me w/ all the techno gadgetry and electric guitar hair-bands stuff. UGH!

I guess I only like the kinds of music one can hear outside on the front porch played during a night-time storm when the power goes off! :)

Ugh . . .. I am feeling ill. ;)

I have to send you some good music.
I had an uncle who always called me Jolene when I was a kid. He was awesome.
Jon says add another yuck for him lol.

Try these. They should make you cry.

Oh Lordy, Janie... We need an intervention, here! :)

I actually like the Nickelback song- but the thrasher, bitin' heads off of bats stuff I'll leave for someone else- HA!

Here are others I like that might quite possibly be on your list- who knows?

'With Arms Wide Open (Sessions)' Video - Creed - AOL Music

''Second Chance'' Video - Shinedown - AOL Music

''Shine' (Live)' Video - Collective Soul - AOL Music

(BTW- you're NOT gonna believe this but Dolly does a cover of "Shine" w/ lots of fiddle and mandolin! I DARE you to You Tube the video! :) )

The Ozzy song I like ok but that video is out there lol. I just threw it in there to see if you would actually watch it. I have the Shinedown CD with that song on it. Creed is pretty good and I have never heard Collective Soul. I'll take your word on Dolly doing Shine lol.

Janie- I'm surprised you aren't familiar w/ Collective Soul. I bet you'd like them. My bro-in-law likes everyone from Czzie/Black Sabbath to Megadeath, Stone Temple Pilots, and Alice in Chains and he digs C.Soul quite a bit. If you're brave- the first link is C.Soul's huge hit 'Shine'. And if you're SUPER brave the second link is- believe it or not- Dolly's cover of it. Of course I happen to think it works! winks- k.

Can't hang with Dolly but CS is pretty cool.

I got to see Ronnie James Dio in a small bar in Cincinatti OH once and it was the best I had ever seen. Right by the stage and huge JVC speakers so much so that I didnt hear right for three days lol. Some of his stuff I didnt care for but we got lucky the night we saw him he did all of our favorites.

We got to meet these guys at a show in Beckly WV. They were the nicest guys ever and they went out of their way to be super nice to Jon. The lead singer Mark Slaughter shook hands with Jon and asked him what he thought of the show. Jon told him it was great and he told Jon who was he to argue with those ears. They signed a picture and tshirt for me that I still have. I asked them before taking their pics which they seemed to appreciate so they posed for my pictures.

You know looking at some old videos to bands and songs I loved in the past I see they are not appropriate for many lol. Stuff that I didnt notice when I was a teen I see now that I am an old married lady. Bands that were massivly popular in the 80's and early 90's do shows these days at small venues and still sound as good as they did then. Well ...most of them. We saw Eddy Money once and he was terrible. 20 years and 30 pounds late there was a lot shakin lol.
