I am an avid recipe collector and cookbook collector and anything cookin' collector. When I find recipes on the web that I want to keep, I usually save them in a folder on my computer. But the computer isn't in the kitchen when I decide to prepare any one of them. I print some of them out but will invariably lose them after the cookin's done. How do you keep track of your acquired recipes?

I save mine on my computer like you and I keep a backup copy of them burned onto a cd. I print one when I need it and end up loosing it lol. I have about 80-85 cookbooks I have collected on my desk and stuffed into a bookshelf in the corner.

Like you and janie and many here- I collect cookbooks. Recipes that I find online or in mags or elsewhere get typed up or otherwise saved into a folder on the desktop.

When it's time to prepare one of the recipes I transcribe it onto a chalkboard in the kitchen in large enuf print so that I can read it from several feet away. If i like the recipe and wish to make it again- if it's a KEEPER- I then move it to a much smaller folder I keep in My Docs.

I use Delicious online bookmarking. You can search easily and access from any computer that has web access. This is the best way that I've found so far. This allows me to add recipes while I'm at work or at a different computer. I'm thinking of getting a busted up laptop for the kitchen. I want to get something cheap that won't cause problems if we spill on it...

I have mine of the computer also. I have about 10 different catogories of recipes like "Main dish chicken" or "condiments" etc but I also keep some note cards of the ones I use the most to save time.
