Instead of paying a fortune for a fancy box of chocolates we went to Sams last night and loaded up on a variety of the mini candy bars and hersheys dark chocolate nuggets. I got a vending box of heath bars. I love toffee! This way I have candy for months..or a couple visits from my nieces lol. Which ever comes first.

RE: "I love toffee! "
Me too, janie!
Also, I really like the the economical "Sam's Choice" (Walmart) line of cheaper "fancy" chocolate squares that come in foil fold-down bags, in shiny individual foil packets... they come in various flavors like dark choc./coconut, milk/orange, raspberry truffle, almond, etc. I like to buy several bags of each variety and mix/match them into smaller decorated boxes and hand out...
Last night I went to a craft store we have here called "Michael's. They had really cool fancy, decorated tubular-shaped gift-boxes meant for holding bottles of wine, on sale for a BUCK each! I bought a few and filled them w/ Valentine's Candy to give to my niece/nephew, and others...
(I also like the similar fold-down/tabbed bags of "Sam's Choice" peanut-butter cups and caramel cups! YUM!)

I didn't watch this particular competition but I have watched the cake competitions and I think it's just rediculous that they are required to walk with them. Real bakers take a cake that intricate in peices and assemble it on site. They don't go walking over hill and dale with them.
Oh and Jaime Oliver Rocks.
