I have seen commercials for this new show on FN.
The star is one of the finalist from the last season of Next Food Network Star.
In one preview it shows a Dalmation eating from its silver dog bowl and someone pulls the dog back and then the star of the show sticks his face into the dogs bowl and eats from it! YUCK! He is talking to the dog while eating from the dish about the texture of the food.
I dont even like it when my dog licks my hand much less eating after him. FN is really reaching for this one.

Viva Daisy is another new one they aired this morning. I think I read some where that is produced by Rachael Ray. It is a latin cooking show. I did not care for the show or the hostess. I think FN ordered 6 episodes of this one to see how it goes. I was not impressed. I would much rather watch Ann Burrell and her earl.

Hmmm... I'm unfamiliar w/ these shows, janie- but then again, I don't have cable/sat. TV and don't get to see the FN nearly as much as I wish I could!

Saturdays I do enjoy watching cooking shows on PBS, though. I watch the Mario/Mark Bittman/Gwynneth Spain series (which I rate only a 5 out of 10- parts of the show- and parts of Mario & Mark really annoy the hell out of me!) as well as Lidia's show (a 10! LOVE me some Lidia!) and Rick Bayless' (an 8! I enjoy this one quite a bit!), and that other middle-aged Spanish dude's show, too (about a 9- I like cooking combined w/ travel, a lot!).

I know what you mean about the dog food bowl Janie I gaged when I saw that:o But oh well who knows!

I like a new show I caught where regular cooks compete for a $25,000.00 grand prize it was good, I also like Iron Chef America. If a show comes on I do not care for I switch to the HGTV channel and take it from there:D I do not indulge in much TV viewing but today it is drizzly and over cast and I have been relaxing and unwinding in some good Food Network viewing! I am thankful for the good shows that they do have!

Then I called my sister in Vermont & we talked a half-hour and of-course we talk food as well as swap recipes:)

Eating dog food is a bit to extreme for me too. The things they do for TV... I have seen a program on public TV called Daisy Cooks which was also had a Latin based theme that I thought wasn't to bad. They probably brought it over to the food network. I liked the show Daisy Cooks because she would use normal every day ingredients and didn't get carried away with over the top recipes.

You know as I sit here and watch my dog trying to lick his privates that commercial sickens me all over again.
