Went to the p-h-a-r-m-a-c-y today to get mine and Jon's zantac.

They had an elderly man working with the regular p-h-ar-ma-cist. He told me that he had my script but there was no record of Jon in their system.
I laughed and said thats odd since we have gotten them here for the past 6 months lol. The other woman that was there came right over when she heard what was going on and found Jon is the system. He was actually listed in there two times.
When I had first come in there was a younger woman standing around the counter and she was with a man and small child. They were all very dirty and even smelled when I walked past. The woman comes over and starts muttering about how the older man was to old to be doing that job...blah blah. I told her it wasnt a problem. I wasnt in a hurry. They found Jon in the system and he was getting Jons script ready. No problem. She wouldnt shut up. She goes on about how her scripts werent ready when they were supposed to be. She kept making cracks about how some people were to old to be doing some jobs. I know the p-h-a-r-m-a-c-i-s-t had to have heard her. Everyone waiting around sure did.
I ignored her. When my script was ready I thanked him and told him to have a nice day. I wanted to muzzle that woman  I felt so sorry for that poor kid. Wearing nothing but a diaper that looked like it was about to fall off. Poor little guy was all dirty.
The older ph-ar-ma-cist fixed the problem very quickly. He had Jon's scrip ready to go in less than five minutes.
I didnt see any reason to get upset.

This type of thing can be upsetting, janie. It would have all un-nerved me a bit too.

I pride myself on trying to be patient. I'm a pretty laid-back guy who doesn't ever get too wound-up. So when I find myself in the presence of folks whose panties get in a bunch it always puzzles me- and if they turn into whack-jobs over it and get all goofy and rude in public- it ain't above me to say something. So, I identify with and empathize w/ your discomfort over how this woman was remarking about the old p h a r m i c i s t-dude. Some people- let me tell ya!

While I generally agree with Kevin, I'm also not above turning to people like that and saying something like, "you know, you made your point. How about shutting up already!"

I also feel strongly that while adults are free to do what they want, there is no excuse for filthy babies. None! Given her general behavior, I might have been hard pressed not to say so.

In one of Robert Heirlien's books there is a character who believes rudeness should be a capital offense. Maybe that's a little too harsh. But a lot of the rudeness in the world---far too much of it lately---exists precisely because it isn't punished. We complain to ourselves about it, but don't say anything, or do anything, when it occurs.

Maybe if everyone in the ******** had responded by making a nasty comment to the woman about her behavior it would be modified in the future?

And can anybody hazard a guess why the system censors out the word p h ar mi c is t?

once the point is made - its made - and I think I would have turned around and told her to spend more time washing her child than complaining -

sorry - no excuse for not using soap and water -

that child is totally helpless and has to depend on that pig to take care of him/her - and can you imagine their house???

sorry -
