Akismet, or Automattic Kismet, is a spam filtering service created by Automattic, the corporation which employs most of the main developers of the weblog platform WordPress, and released on October 25, 2005. Akismet attempts to filter link spam from blog comments and spam TrackBack pings. The filter works by combining information about spam captured on all participating blogs, and then using those spam rules to block future spam.
Tags allow you to "tag" content with keywords. Note the bottom of this thread, it shows a keyword tag.
Now you can search by tag if you want.
Let us say you post a recipe for leg of lamb, you could tag it with these keywords:
Main course, easter, mint, gamey, etc..
Then you want to say, search for main courses, just do a tag search (see search page)... Or, click the tag at the bottom of the page and it will bring you to other threads with the same tag.
