Near the mountains. We are about 35 minuted from Boone and Blowing Rock.

Welcome to the forums. I have a friend that moved to High Point. He says he doesn't get much snow, but they get ice storms sometimes. If I had a choice, I'd take snow over the ice. We had a heck of a winter here about 10 years ago where we just go ice after ice after ice.
