Post the last movie you've watched, and your rating (out of 10).

A little bit of commentary would also be nice. :)

This'll be fun. :)

Oh, I think I should've mentioned mine first.

Last night I watched the re-release of Blade Runner (Director's Cut). When I first watched it years ago, I didn't really understand why it is such a cult phenomenon and why it constantly made it to best-movie lists everywhere. It was slow-paced for an action movie (still is) and the story did not have much of an impact to me at all. But watching it now made me realize that it deals with a lot of profound themes so for me, that upped the notch a bit.

Rating: 7/10

The last DVD I watched was and 1990's movie Falling Down starring Michael Douglas as a nutcase estranged husband. There's a lot of great scenes, but the two I love most are the Whammy Burger scene where he wants to order breakfast but it's 10:31 (and after 10:30) and they won't serve it to him because of 'policy'. Number two scene is with the missle launcher and little kid that tells him how to use it and he blows up the freeway project. "What's wrong with the road?". Heh!

Rating: 10/10

The Rat Race

I like older movies created before blowing things up became more important then acting. One of my favories is an old Tony Curtis movie The Rat Race. Besides the story line, the movie was made while the US freeways were being built and the film shows so nice scenes of a Greyhound Bus moving on almost virgin road. Nowadays, that section of freeway is probably a parking lot. If you remember those old Greyhound Vistacruiser buses, here is a chance to see them again.

As for the film,it's a great story line and you're sure to enjoy it .. should you be able to find it in the DVD store.

Here's the real link to The Rat Race. The other linked to Tony himself.

The last DVD that I watched last night was Fire Below which is a Steven Segal flick. I really like Steven Segal and therefore watch many of his movies. He usually plays the part of the good guy in him movies. This particular movie was about a corporation that was trucking toxic waste to the Appalachia mountains and burying it below the mountain which contaminated the drinking water and air in the area. This was a movie unfortunately this type of irresponsible corporate behavior happens in real life.

Seems like a nice movie. But so much for the *spoilers*. Heheh. I hope those weren't the film's highlights because if they are, I'll be "real" mad. :p

You have to see the movie then! The story line is Michael Douglas has been laid off from work, gets stuck in traffic in LA, abandons his car in traffic and starts a trek across town to Santa Monica, where his wife lives. On the way, a couple of hoodlums trey to mug him, but he gets the best of them, and his first weapon. As he continues across town, things escalate, and he ends up with the hoodlums weapons cache of 50 or so guns and Uzzis. Eventually he ends up with a shoulder fired missile. It's a strange combination of comedy, drama, and police story. It's worth watching.

The last movie I watch was the Exorcism of Emily Rose. We liked it. Definitely not a full out horror movie like the advertisements had made it seem when it was in the theatre. I liked how they intertwined the horror aspect of it with the court room drama. And it was really interesting to hear the perspective of each side trying to prove that exorcism and possession is a true human phenomenon and the other side trying to prove this was simply a medical mystery that was treatable. Certainly poses some interesting questions of the self.

I think the last one I saw in the theater was "Failure to Launch."

I give it a 5 maybe.

The sum of the parts was better than the whole. There were some funny lines and moment, but overall it wasn't great.

I watched the original Terminator last night on tnt (or was it tbs?). It's a classic, and would give it a 8/10. Had some good suspence and it's been a long time since I saw it last so it was worth watching.

It's funny how Arnold is the Governator now. ... and Amazing how Enron changed so much, even politics in California. I remember we were paying $0.07 a kilowatt/hr at the time for electricity while PG&E was buying 'competitively off the grid' from Enron at $10.00 a kilowatt/hr and shutting down powerplants for 'maintenance' during the summer. :)

Last night my husband and I watched Underworld the revolution. It was good!! Now I had forgotten what the first one was about LOL, but thankfully the sequel went back in time a little to keep you caught up. Actually I think that this one was better than the last. Its about vampires and other scary looking creatures. I would rate it an 8 out of 10!!

We just watched Batman Begins last night and really enjoyed it. I think the thing i enjoyed most about it was the character development, there was more to it than just 'action'.

Oh, Underworld Revolution! That's one that I kept meaning to see in the theatre and I really liked the first one. We just never got around to it and now I need to add it to our Netflix queue.

We went to see Superman Returns just yesterday. I really enjoyed it. It was much better than the third/fourth installments and made a lot more sense. And they introduced some interesting story twists.

I liked Brandon Routh as Superman and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor.

That's another one I want to see. It's playing here on both normal screens and at our IMAX theatre. I get to the movie theatre so rarely though, but I'm hoping that is one I can actually make it to see.

Has anyone seen The Devil Wears Prada?

I read and enjoyed the book, and intend on going to see the movie, but I just wondered what other feedback was out there.

The couple of people I've talked to so far, said that it was good, but not as good as the book. That seems about par for the course for books-that-become-movies.

As for "The Devil Wears Prada", still haven't watched it. I intend to though. One can never go wrong with Meryll Streep--she's one of my favorite actresses ever; I just love her. I think it's gonna be a kick-ass chick flick.

The last movie I watched was "The Usual Suspects" on DVD. It was really great! Not your run-of-the-mill whodunnit, plus I appreciated the dry humor. Kevin Spacey is good, although I feel his acting is a bit self-concious in this movie.

The question is: Who is Keyser Soze? Do you really wanna know? :D

I give it an 8 out of 10 stars.

Thank heaven for DVD's!!!

I am so sick and tired of commercials that I rarely watch television but the DVD player is on most of the time - at least there aren't commercials. (ever notice that you can count 13 to 15 commercials at once?? - and I really don't think they should run the same commerical in the same time slot right after another!)

We have a good collection of DVD's and VHS tapes and yesterday was Gettysburg - all six hours of it! But I got to pause it while I was cooking, etc. and I didn't miss any of it!

Tonight is Steven King's Storm of the Century.

Last night we watched this movie called Ultraviolet. It was ok, not as good as I thought it would be. I was getting kinda sleepy watching it. I would rate it a 7 out of 10. You're right about dvds!
