I take it that's a portable machine that you're talking about.

Well, try to enquire through some friends who might have one and get THEIR input, at least. I couldn't do without mine - especially when it comes to cleaning up after big meals!! Pots & pans and dinnerware go right in and come out really clean!!!

I wouldn't exactly call this big-azz thing that you have to push with all your might to move, portable. but they have been living like that for years. I couldn't. But it's their household and not mine.

I have never seen one yet that gets dishes clean and most are loud.
People return my tupperware that they have washed in dishwashers and it def does not feel clean to the touch. I always rewash it.

Nothing against you, but don't get ME started on that one about washing dishes for a living!

I ended up stuck with a slavery-wage job washing friggen dishes instead of being offered a cook's job which I went to school for. And your right, it IS a thankless slaver-wage-paying job.

The blasted loud-mouthed acid-tongued hard-nosed fat-ass manager who runs the cafeteria where I worked at Northeastern University, came into the dishroom one day and yelled at me and everyone else in there because the conveyer belt that brings the dirty dishes and trays in had backed up. And there were only three people in there working - with myself included!!

Even when I went looking for a cook's job elsewhere, all I was ever offered was a friggen dishwashing job!!!!!!! Even working for a temp agency, I got nothing but jobs washing friggen dishes!!!!!!!!!

Thank God that I was accepted for disability from Social Security!!!! Those slave drivers REALLY DO treat employees who are stuck with jobs washing dishes like dog crap!!

He didn't care that I was hurting all over, sore, stiff, tired with wrenching lower back pains and out of breath!! And when I first started there, they put me on a 10-hour shift with only one break - lunch! No short breaks in between at all! Part-time people work 5 hours get no break at all!! I was hurting so bad with back pain that I had to go into the men's room and sneak a short break by sitting on the toilet pretending that I had to use the toilet!!! How sad is that?!!

No union for the employees - that's the main reason why they got away with so much crap there!! Their way or the highway!! You have no protection and are defenseless against them because they like to beat up on the employees and work the crap out of them. They want less people to do more work!!!!

I got so fed up with their crap that I just couldn't deal with it any more and did just that - took the highway. I told them exactly what they can do with that lousy two-bit slavery-minimum-wage-paying job!!!!!!! Told them to take it and stick it in their back pocket and walked out!! I will never go back to work on a job like that ever again because you just don't get appreciated for it at all!!

You're killing yourself and slaving and working in at hot steamy environment trying to make an honest living, and all that happens is you get crapped on by the mean and nasty management!!!

Yeah- I hear ya, Big D. Definitely a common story. Some folks just never properly learned how to treat people.

That's why the scenario up in my lenghthier post earlier about doing whatever it takes to make a good DMO happy was always high priority in MY kitchens. I could always replace a decent cook in a heartbeat. But replacing a good dishwasher? Sometimes it took MONTHS!

Mine weighs a ton. Trust me - it has a huge cement block under the tub!! I imagine that it acts as a counterweight for the door.

Like the counterweight for an elevator!

Chubby, I just wish that I lived in YOUR area and was looking for a cook's job. You might have offered me one!
