I've never had any luck with one. U've had them break and clog up. When I use fresh garlic, I peel the cloves by squishing them with the flat side of a knive, and chop them up fine. Or I use store bought chopped garlic in a jar, which is easier to use and seems to me to have a stronger garlic flavor them my fresh chopped garlic. I'm just thinking now that a small food processor would mince garlic up quite well.

Muslgrl: What kind of garlic press did you get? Do the little holes clog?

You have to buy an expensive onr for it not to break. I got mine at Williams Sonoma paid about $20.00 for it. To clean the holes I use a little brush. a tooth brush would work well.

My garlic press is a nice addition to my drawer - that's about it. I'd rather minced myself - less frustrating.
