I usually don't marinate my regular wings. I deep fry and I bake - depends on how I want them.
I wash and pat dry my wings and deep fry or bake. If I want them barbecued I brush on the BBQ sauce and place them on my electric grill for those nice grill marks. If I want them "sauced" then I toss them in my hot sauce after they are cooked. Sometimes I may bread them for something different. Hot sauce is usually made depending on who is eating them. Hot sauce, cayenne and tabasco combined with butter for a more nuclear reaction - LOL. Hot sauce, butter and spices - there is a lot you can do.
We usually make our hot wings in the form of buffalo wings. We add chili and a sweet sauce that would really be thick because we prefer to cover the chicken wholly. But at times we regret this idea if we put too much chili on the sauce.
I have never made buffalo wings. I am not a huge fried food fan. I never thought about baking them. If baking them should you put the sauce on them before or after baking them?
I like mine crisp so I place them in a lightly oiled baking pan in a single layer and I season them and bake until done. Then I slather on the BBQ sauce and either return them to the oven to heat the sauce or I place them on the electric grill and get those lovely grill marks on them.
Oh out here in California they are about that price if not more depending on where you eat. I will have to look in the grocery stores for the drumsticks. I think those would be more kid friendly.
If I am making hot wings I bake them, but will season them usually with my blend of roasted chicken seasoning, then Dip them in a hot wing sauce and put them back in the oven to se the sauce on them a bit.
