The weather has been so nice around here this June, so I got a hankering for plain old grilled hamburgers. I love to grill, and by adding some hamburger seasonings, I make a delicious grilled hamburger that makes ones mouth water. Especially mine. :p

There's many things I do to make different burgers. Top the burger with warmed DAK ham and bbq sauce. Add some A-1. Chop up an onion finely, and mix it in with the meat along with some minced garlic and then form the burgers - this is much better then the Lipton Onion soup mix.

And don't forget to toast the buns on the grill before serving. That really adds to the final burger.

Oh, and toss out the American Cheese Fat, and use real Cheddar cheese slices.

I like my burger to be topped with LTM, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and onion. You could say it's almost a Dagwood burger. ;)

That sounds like it would smell wonderful! I love the way hamburgers on the grill smell. I honestly haven't had a hamburger in a few years. I really love to be outside by the grill when they're being made though. The smell is enough to keep me from eating them.

Wow! No hamburgers in a few years. I find that amazing. Now not eating a McDs I can understand. They process the food so much that it's no longer food. But a nice lean burger? I have a friend that won't eat burgers because his sister is a nurse. I don't quite get the relation there.

My family regularly fixes hamburgers for lunch or dinner. No matter how we fix the hamburgers they always taste great when cooked with charcoal on our Weber grill. We find that if you start cooking the hamburgers directly over the coals at the beginning for a minute or two and then flip them over and cook for another minute or two over the coals and then move them to the side of the charcoal to finish cooking. By using this method you lock in the juices while thoroughly cooking the hamburgers.

I just don't like the taste of ground meat as a whole. I make an exception and will eat tacos or spaghetti meat sauce. Both of which I will only eat if I make and then I make sure it's made with 96% lean and *prefer* 98% lean, but it's so hard to find the latter. On the rare occassion I do find it I tend to buy several portions worth of it.

And I'm not sure the relationship between not eating a burger and sister being a nurse.

For me the choice not to eat burgers is simply a taste preference. As I've gotten a little bit older they no longer taste quite... "right" to me. I'm not sad about it. I just enjoy the way they smell. : ) I do take a quick bite every once in a while, but... I always have a hard time even finishing the bite enough to swallow and end up spitting it out.
