Candied Sweet Potatoes


3 Or 4 large sweet potatoes
1/3 c Butter
1 c Brown sugar
-=OR=-
3/4 c Maple syrup

Peel and cut potatoes into thick slices. Boil
until not quite done. Drain and put them in a
baking dish. Heat butter and sugar or syrup; pour
over potatoes and bake at 400° for 30-40 minutes.

Lol. I just made something real similar the other day. I didnt bake them. I made them like you would make mashed potatoes, then added brown sugar and butter. I am quite amazed at how well it turned out seeing as how I didnt follow a recipie and was my first time making sweet potatoes.

I have a recipe for sweet potato casserole that involves sweetened condensed milk and a brown sugar/pecan crumbly topping. I need to dig it up and post it. It's so sweet, you could eat it for dessert. Speaking of which, maybe I have a sweet potato pie recipe too.

My mother-in-law has a recipe for sweet potato casserole involving tons of brown sugar, butter, marshmallows, and pecans.
