Here too, janie. And what there is is not the best in quality- and very picked-over. A sad season!

So much rain in the beginning.
I have found out the woman on the end apartment here with the cutie pie schnauzer loves to cook. I went down to the garden yesterday and got some things. When I came back I took her another basket of goodies. She said she was going to make a green tomato pizza. She left a lovely me a lovely card saying thanks outside my door the other day.

I made 8 quarts of garlic dill pickles tonight. My brother asked me to make him some sweet pickles. I still have Brook's sweet pickle recipe so Im gonna use that to make him a few quarts.

That's a nice looking garden.

I've been doing pretty well with my garden this year. I have lots of tomatoes now but they did definitely ripen late due to the cold wet weather. Last year I use to go to the farmers market every weekend but our is so expensive! 5 dolla, 5 dolla, 5 dolla. Every little half pint everything is 5 bucks a piece. This year I just planted more of my own and it's working out really well.

Everyone around here has had a terrible blight attacking their green beans. It hit the ones in the pics about a week later. Covered in ugly brown holes. FIL got some stuff and sprayed on them hoping to save what is left.
Garden season is flying by fast. We have been getting a few ripe tomatos a day but no more than 4-5. I have been picking a few half ripe ones and putting them out on the balcony to finish getting ripe. I go to the garden about every 2-3 days trying to get the cucs for pickles before they get very big and full of seeds. My FIL lives about 5 miles from me.

FIL has these two bronze breasted turkeys as pets. The hen died about three months ago and I have been looking every where for him another one. WELL finally today I found him one on a farm just outside of town for $20. They had the coolest white peacock there! They had a white male and a normal colored male. They spread their feathers out and it was so beautiful!
I tried to describe to Jon but I doubt I did them justice. That farm was so cool. They had a big garden and you could see all of these bunnies all over it munching away. It looked like Mr. McGregors garden lol.
They put the turkey in a cage in the back seat with me and she was all nervous. I told the FIL he wasnt gonna help her peace of mind by putting her next to the lady who fixes the holiday dinners lol.
