What are some favorite restaurants that are a must to see for visitors to your area.

I'll start -- Birmingham, Al

Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Lemon Basil Sauce

BBQ, Cole Slaw and "Half Moon Cookies"
Full Moon Bar-B-Que

Highlands Baked Grits
Highlands Bar and Grill

Meat & Vegetable Buffet
Niki's West
Been in business since the 1950's and is located next to the farmer's market so the veggies are always fresh. My favorite is the Greek Chicken and Fried Green Tomatoes

Hamburger, Fries & Sweet Tea
Milo's

"All the Way" Dog
Pete's Famous Hot Dogs
Been in b'ham since the 1920's. Birmingham has it's own hot dog culture, sort of a Coney Island dog plus. The plus is sauerkraut, and a dog ordered "all the way" comes with kraut, fresh chopped onions, mustard and Pete's meat sauce - a spicier and meatier than normal version of Coney Island sauce.

BBQ Ribs, Dreamland Sauce & White Bread

I love:

Babe's Chicken Dinner House - Two items on the menu: fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Served family style with sweet corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, and biscuits. MMMMMmmmmm

Ravioli - Quaint little Italian place in old downtown, in an old house. Very cute and romantic.

Big Fish - Cajun/seafood, very casual and fun

I'll be back with more and hopefully some links.

I'm near Memphis, Tennessee, and that means one thing to me: BARBECUE.

My husband and I love the barbecue at Corky's, but we are wet-rub BBQ people. If you prefer dry-rub, then the place for you is Rendezvous.

Both places ship out-of-town. :) You won't regret it!

And the other thing you've got to have around here is fried catfish and hushpuppies. And sweet tea, obviously.

Some great Texas choices:

La Hacienda Ranch - fabulous fajitas and margaritas

Snuffers - Not an extensive menu, just burgers and a few other things, and cheese fries that absolutely rock your face off. You've never tasted anything like it.

Antares - Upscale grill, at the top of a building downtown where you sit overlooking the city and the restaurant rotates once every hour so you get an incredible view.

Stephan Pyles - Upscale Southwestern.
